Community Planning Minor

The minor in community planning is for students who wish to expand their knowledge of the processes of community planning and development.

Core requirements
Successful completion of the following planning course with a grade of C or better: Planning electives
Successful completion of 12 hours of the following planning courses (unless an external elective option is elected by the student) with grades of C or better: External electives
Successful completion of 3 credit hours from the following list of courses is considered as an acceptable substitute for one of the courses listed above in the planning elective area: Criteria for admission
Undergraduate students may apply for admission to the minor by contacting the departmental offices and completing an enrollment form at least one year prior to graduation.
Students will be assigned an academic advisor for the minor program from faculty within the program in regional and community planning. While the elective options listed above are generic to the minors program, other acceptable substitutes may be negotiated based on interest and background. Completion requirements
Only courses with grades of C or better count toward the minor. Students must earn a cumulative 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in the minor course work to successfully complete the minor. Ungraded course work taken for pass/fail does not qualify for inclusion in the minors program. The Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional and Community Planning will award a certificate in community planning to those students who successfully complete the minor program upon graduation from K-State.
