MET 231 - Physical Materials and MetallurgyCredits: (3) A broad view of materials used in industry, including structures of materials, how they react to stress and temperature, how the polyphase structures form, and how they are controlled to produce optimum properties. Students will examine through study and laboratory experimentation ferrous and nonferrous metals, polymers, composites, and ceramics.
Note Two hours lec. and two hours lab a week.
Requisites Coreq.: MATH 100 and CHM 210.
