SOCIO 738 - Inter-American MigrationCredits: (3) Analyzes the migratory experiences of Latin American and Caribbean peoples to the United States within their socioeconomic, cultural, political and historical contexts. Introduces students to the current theoretical debate on migration and the construction of U.S. immigration policies. Examines the ways in which these policies shape migrant flows to the U.S., the incorporation and community formation of immigrants, and the impacts of such communities on the development of U.S. Society.
