Professional Skills for STEM Practitioners Graduate Certificate

Offered by the School of Applied and Interdisciplinary Studies (Olathe Campus) , this 15-credit program provides the management, communication and critical thinking skills necessary for professionals in leadership roles in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. After completion of the program, students will be able to 1) understand the basics of project or program management, 2) demonstrate appropriate oral and written communication skills in a professional environment, and 3) synthesize professional skills in order to accurately implement innovative solutions. Students will take 12 credits of interdisciplinary professional skills courses and three credits of capstone experience courses, (Professional Science Master’s degree-seeking students) or a Topics in Applied and Interdisciplinary Studies course (PSSP certificate-seeking students), which will provide opportunities to apply and integrate knowledge and methods to solve problems. Courses are offered online, face-to-face, and in combination.
