The School of Applied and Interdisciplinary Studies advances Kansas State University Olathe’s mission to be the model and leader of adaptable, interdisciplinary and innovative education, research and public/private engagement in the Kansas City area, bridging the University with global and local communities, government and industry partners. The School offers academic programs and applied research that address industry demand in the food, animal health and related sectors. The interdisciplinary studies approach to critical thinking allows students to gain a more comprehensive understanding of complex issues and an enhanced ability to address broad and multi-faceted challenges. The School provides students with a high degree of flexibility in designing their educational and research plans, which increase the technical and professional skills needed for career advancement.
