Industrial Engineering Master of Management (M.E.M.)

Master’s degree requirements


To pursue the MEM degree, the student must meet the KSU Graduate School admissions requirements, have a B.S. degree in engineering, mathematics, or physical science, and have taken at least one course each in calculus and statistics. Students must have at least three years of full-time industrial (work) experience by the time they complete the program.

Master of Engineering Management is an online program only. This program is designed to be a part-time program and typically requires 2 to 4 years to complete.

Students not meeting the above requirements may be considered if they can demonstrate equivalent evidence of an appropriate background. Contact the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering to discuss.

Electives (15 hours)


Electives are any course offered by any department other than IMSE. It is suggested that students take courses in Psychology, Business and other Engineering disciplines that will broaden and enhance their management or engineering skills.

Guidelines and Additional Requirements


* Actual degree requirements will be summarized on an approved plan of study. Some general guidelines include:


–At most 6 hours can be transferred from another school, unless prior approval is given

–No more than 6 hours can be taken from an outside department without prior permission

–Courses in the IMSE department must be above the 600 level

–Courses outside the department must be above the 500 level

–No more than 6 hours can be taken at the 500 level


** Students on-campus are required to enroll in the graduate seminar each semester 

** Besides the above academic requirements, a graduating student must have at least 3 years of full-time work experience.
