GEOG 740 - Fluvial Geomorphology This course is a basic introduction to the field of Fluvial Geomorphology, the study of the forms and processes found within streams and rivers. Topics will include: Review of watershed hydrology and hillslope processes, mechanics of open channel flow, sediment entrainment and transport, channel geometry, longitudinal profile and gradient, effective flows/formative events, channel patterns, pool- and river management and restoration.

Note: The course meets for three hours of lecture per week with one required weekend fieldtrip.
Requisites: Pr.: GEOG 221 or permission of instructor.
