The Division of Continuing Education works with K-State’s faculty to deliver the university’s quality learning resources to learners throughout Kansas, the nation, and the world through courses, conferences, professional development, and other learning experiences. The university makes use of the Internet, TELENET 2, a videoconferencing system, and face-to-face instruction. Location, once a major obstacle for those seeking educational opportunities, is being overcome through effective use of technology and services to distance students.
The Division of Continuing Education has a trained staff to help students who have encountered obstacles to traditional college attendance, such as barriers created by distance, employment, physical handicap, or family responsibilities. Students are advised in their individual programs of study to select options such as online classes, conferences, short courses, or workshops, that best suits their needs.

Intersession
Intersession is conducted during the following three-week breaks in the academic calendar: late December to mid January, late May to mid June, and late July to mid August. Annually, many existing and new or experimental credit courses are offered in Intersession, providing students with an opportunity to examine academic areas not scheduled in their current curricula and faculty members with a means to experiment with new ideas and formats for teaching. On-campus, study away, and online or distance classes are offered during Intersession. Students are encouraged to consult with their advisors to determine if a particular Intersession class will fulfill specific degree requirements. Intersession course information can be found online at www.dce.k-state.edu/courses/intersession.
Evening College
K-State Evening College courses are offered on the K-State campus in Manhattan in 8-week, 12-week, and 16-week schedules between 5:30 and 10:30 p.m. Two degree programs are offered through Evening College: bachelor’s degrees in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology and Interdisciplinary Social Science. For complete Evening College information visit www.dce.k-state.edu/eveningcollege.
TELENET 2
TELENET 2 (T2) is an educational video conference network with live, real-time classes. There are multiple Kansas T2 classrooms equipped with Polycom systems and large monitors. Other sites anywhere in the world are possible. Up to 20 sites can be linked simulataneously. A local TELENTET 2 assistant is responsible for operating the equipment and assisting students.
