Master of Arts in Teaching

The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program is designed for adults who have previously attained a Bachelor's degree and would like to become an elementary or secondary teacher. Program completers would earn a Master of Arts in Teaching degree and a recommendation for initial teacher licensure in Kansas. The MAT has options of elementary, unified elementary, or secondary teaching tracks.

The program is delivered exclusively online and can be completed in as little as 12 months for students in the Elementary and Secondary tracks. The Unified Elementary Special Education track typically requires a minimum of 16 months. Students may also choose a slower individualized pace. Students may begin in the summer, fall, or spring semesters.
