Personal Financial Planning Graduate Certificate

Kansas State University's personal financial planning certificate program is a CFP Board-Registered Program. Accurate and timely information in the key area of financial planning will be provided, in addition to meeting the educational requirements to be eligible for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM exam.

K-State's certificate in personal financial planning is unlike any other program in the country. The majority of programs registered with CFP Board require in-class attendance or rely on self-study materials. The K-State program offers students an opportunity to combine self-study with a mentoring classroom-type experience. The program is offered fully online or on campus.

The certificate in personal financial planning requires 18 hours of graduate credit. The program consists of six courses. Students have the option of taking these six courses as a stand-alone graduate certificate. All students must be accepted to the K-State Graduate School.

After earning the graduate certificate, students may apply credits earned through the graduate certificate completion towards a Master of Personal Financial Planning at Kansas State University.
