Applied Music - Composition (BM)

The Bachelor of Music in Applied Music is a four-year program preparing performers in discipline of their choice. Students will select from voice, instrumental, musical theatre, or composition to serve as their area of study.

Choose 1 subject area which must include a lab.

Social & Behavioral Sciences (Social & Behavioral Sciences Outcomes): 6 Credit Hours


At least 2 courses from 2 subjects under this area.

Arts & Humanities (Arts & Humanities Outcomes): 6 Credit Hours


At least 2 courses from 2 subjects under this area.

Studio Lessons: 8 credit hours


Organizational Requirement: 8 credit hours


Students must participate in a major ensemble each semester in which they are enrolled.

Once the 8 credit hours for the organizational requirement have been met, a student must take an ensemble for 0 credits every semester in which they are enrolled until degree completion/graduation. 

Recitals: 3 credit hours


Techniques Courses: 29 credit hours


Total Hours Required for Graduation: 120
