The Art Department offers a BA degree with concentration areas in both Art History and Studio Art. Both degree concentrations require fulfillment of the College of Arts and Sciences requirements for the B.A. The Art B.A. requires core foundations in both Studio and Art History in addition to further study in one concentration. Students majoring in Art must earn a total of 120 credit hours for graduation.

The BA prepares students for graduate work and academic careers in a wide range of arts-related fields, including arts administration, cultural entrepreneurship, museum studies, arts, community development and other fields outside the arts that require expertise in art, problem-solving, and creative thinking.

Studio Core Courses (10 credit hours)


Concentration in Studio Art (15 credit hours)


The Studio Art concentration requires 15 credits of Studio Art classes beyond the Studio Core Course requirements. Courses must be selected from the list of approved classes from the list below:

Concentration in Art History


The Art History concentration requires 15 additional credits in Art History beyond the 12 credit hours listed under Art History Core Courses above.
