The B.S. in Dietetics prepares students for a career in nutrition and dietetics.  The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) as a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) and fulfills the first step on the pathway to earning the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential. The other steps required to earn the RDN credential are to earn a graduate degree, complete an ACEND-required supervised practice program, and pass the national credentialing exam for dietitians offered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) https://www.cdrnet.org/certifications.

K-State offers a Kansas-based graduate level ACEND-accredited supervised practice program or graduates can apply to external supervised practice programs (over 260 available) listed in the ACEND program directory. https://www.eatrightpro.org/acend/accredited-programs/about-accredited-programs

Graduates can choose to bypass completion of a graduate-level supervised practice program and instead sit for the national Registration Examination for Nutrition and Dietetics Technician-Registered,  earning the Nutrition and Dietetic Technician-Registered (NDTR) credential offered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) https://www.cdrnet.org/certifications.

The B.S. in Dietetics is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, 120 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 2190, Chicago, IL 60606-6995, 800-877-1600 ext 5400, https://www.eatrightpro.org/acend
