Environmental Science B.S.



This degree will prepare students for careers in environmental sciences and provide specialization in water resources, earth systems, conservation and sustainability, analytical and geospatial methods, or agroecosystems.  Curriculum is designed so students will accomplish the following:

• Develop an understanding the Earth as an integrated system and an appreciation for how humans and social systems shape our environment.

• Engage in impactful experiential learning opportunities to include undergraduate research and internships as well as laboratory, computer-based, and field methods.

• Add focused depth to their learning to target specific career fields with strong workforce demand and societal need

Basic Degree Requirements: (22 credit hours)


Note: Requirements to fill College of Arts and Sciences and College of Agriculture BS degree requirements. Remaining college requirements are fulfilled by degree requirements listed below.

Humans and the Environment (12 credit hours)


  • Social Systems Elective Credits: 3

  • Human-Environment Interactions Elective Credits: 6 (one course must be numbered 200 or above)

Individual Experiential Learning (3 credit hours)
