Pre-Kindergarten Education Minor



The undergraduate minor in Pre-Kindergarten Education is restricted to K-State students enrolled in the teacher’s education program in Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) or Elementary Education (ELED). Coursework for the minor builds on pre-service teacher education coursework required for the FACS and ELED programs and addresses content knowledge and skills needed for licensed Pre-Kindergarten teachers in Kansas.

The Pre-K Minor is available to current K-State undergraduate students who are admitted to or have completed the teacher’s education program in Elementary Education or Family and Consumer Sciences, subject to the following criteria:

Students must submit a Minor Application Form.

The application must be approved by the Pre-K Minor admissions committee for eligibility to receive the minor.

Graduation Requirements:


The minor in Pre-Kindergarten Education will be available upon the completion of the sixteen (16) required hours. To be awarded a minor, the student must a) not be on probation, b) have a C or better in all coursework applied to the minor, and c) be completing the FACS or ELED degree program.
