Integrative Human Sciences (B.S.)



The BS in Integrative Human Sciences offers an integrative approach to studying the well-being of individuals, families and communities in a global environment. Students incorporate areas of concentration of their choice from the human sciences to translate and address contemporary societal issues.

This degree may lead to licensure in Family and Consumer Sciences in the State of Kansas.

Students who are pursuing licensure in family and consumer sciences education work with their advisor to pursue the plan of requisites that will meet Kansas state licensure standards.

Bachelor’s degree requirements

General requirements (34-35 credit hours)


Humanities (3 credit hours)


Select from the K-State 8 list of approved humanities courses in consultation with advisor.

Quantitative studies (6 credit hours)


  • Statistics course, 300-level or higher Credits: 3

Integrative Health and Human Sciences core courses (3 credit hours)


Professional studies (78 credit hours)


Grades of “C” or higher required.

Areas of Concentration (60 hours)


In consultation with their advisor, students select four areas of concentration related to their personal and professional goals. *

60 credit hours in total are required: 42 of the 60 credit hours must be in areas in the College of Health and Human Sciences. 30 of the 60 credit hours must be at the undergraduate upper level to meet graduation requirements.
