Gerontology Minor

Gerontology is available to all undergraduate students in any college as an interdisciplinary minor. Most programs of study will allow the student to take both a primary major and a minor within the normal four year academic program of his/her college.

The minor in gerontology is a 15-credit-hour program of study which includes 6 credit hours of  required courses and 9 credit hours of electives taken from a list of approved gerontology courses offered in departments across the university. Students must meet with the Center on Aging advisor to declare the minor. For information on  careers in the field of gerontology, schedule a student advising appointment and/or to review your progress toward completing the minor in gerontology, please contact the gerontology advisor at (785) 532-5945 or gerontology@ksu.edu. All graduating students must complete a graduation clearance the semester prior to graduation.

Elective Courses (9 credit hours)

Additional courses may be approved for gerontology credit on a case-by-case basis by the Center on Aging Academic Affairs Committee.
