ANTH 319 - Food and Culture Credits: 3
An examination of heritage cuisines, nutrition, and diet as a part of daily life, special holidays, and ritual events, as well as how subsistence, taste, and culinary practices have transformed over time and across borders. Anthropological examples from various subcultures will help students consider what the global flow of people, food commodities, and recipes means for our communities, our identities, our palates, and our bodies.
