ANTH 312 - Museums, Cultures, and Collaborations Credits: 3
Critically examine the cultures and histories of museums and collections in the United States and elsewhere by exploring topics such as: the complexity of representing others; museums, colonization, and power; museum ethics; collaborative museum work with, and by, indigenous communities and curators; the global art and artifact market and growing repatriation movements, etc. Students will get a chance to visit museums, as well as to engage with the ethnography collections housed by the Anthropology program at K-State.
