BME 390 - BME Skill Development Experience Credits: 2
This course will focus on habits of mind and practical skill development within laboratory environments that incorporate wet-laboratory equipment, electronic devices/instruments, and resources for handling biological tissue. The instructor will emphasize the proper use of personal protective equipment, safe work practices, and principles of chemical, biological, electrical, fire, and radiation safety. Students will learn fundamentals of sterile techniques and address the appropriate operation, cleaning, and maintenance of laboratory equipment, electronic instrumentation, and electromechanical devices. Strategies for career development will be addressed in these contexts.
Note 1 hour lecture; 3 hours laboratory
