Examines policies and programs to address social problems and their impact on individuals. Explores values and beliefs underlying social welfare policy and history of social welfare policy in the United States. Identifies strengths and weaknesses of current government interventions, with special emphasis on policies to promote social and economic justice in the United States and abroad. Reviews ways to conduct effective social welfare policy analysis and interventions.
