Contextualized discussion and analysis of literature and cultural life in 18th-19th-century Spain. Course may be focused on a theme, genre, or movement (Enlightenment, Romanticism, Realism, Naturalism). Topics may include anticlericalism and Catholicism; revolution and empire; scientific reasoning.
