HIST 155 - U.S. Military History since 1775

Studies the history of the military and warfare in U.S. history from 1775-present.  Includes strategic, operation, political, and social elements as part of explaining how warfare has shaped U.S. history and how American institutions and history have shaped the U.S. military.  Topics include the history and development of the armed forces, the operational history of America’s wars, the place of the military in American society, the influence of technological change on warfare, and the role of women and people of color in the armed forces over time.
