GERON 510 - Aging in America: Policy and Advocacy

Credits: 3

The history of aging policy in the U.S. will be covered, with special attention given to integral topics including (but not limited to): formal and informal caregiving; healthcare; retirement; elder abuse and minority rights; current movements in aging policy, with a special analysis of ongoing Federal- and state-level legislation. Students will be encouraged to formulate, express, and apply their own opinions through classroom discussions and integrative projects.
