BIOCH 522 - General Biochemistry LaboratoryCredits: 3
A one-semester laboratory course encompassing a connected series of experiments that span biochemical chromatographic techniques, PCR- cloning into plasmids by restriction fragment exchange, protein expression and purification by His-tag affinity chromatography, spectroscopic analysis of ligand binding, enzyme kinetics and inhibition.
Note Two hours of lecture and six hours of lab per week.
Requisites Prerequisite: CHM 351 or CHM 532 and BIOCH 521 or concurrent enrollment.
