GEOG 706 - Biophysical Remote SensingCredits: (3)
An advanced seminar covering methods and models for retrieving quantitative information about the Earth’s surface from remotely
sensed data. Topics covered will include inversion techniques for determining surface radiance
and reflectance, correction of atmospheric effects, theory of vegetation indices and their use in
empirical determination of canopy properties, canopy models and their inversion, and the use of
hyperspectral data for retrieval of surface biophysical information.
Requisites: Prerequisites: GEOG 605.
Other requirements: A course in a physical or biological science, Math 210 or 220, or equivalent.
When Offered: Fall, Spring
