SPAN 600 - Introduction to Linguistics

Introduction to the fundamentals of linguistic analysis, including the sound system, word and sentence formation, and semantic and pragmatic meaning.  Formal and usage-based perspectives.  Application of linguistics to language acquisition theory and to pedagogy.
