Application of design and type principles to the development of letterforms and to principles of symbology. Selected topics in design, i.e., perception, figure/ground; shape, visual dynamics, Gestalt principle; fundamentals of the design process: research, thumbnails/roughs, comprehensive, presentation, paste-up, and digital fines.
Note Six hours lab.
