The agricultural communications and journalism (ACJ) degree program allows you to combine your passion for agriculture and/or environmental issues with enhanced communication and journalism skills. Both the agricultural and environmental options feature challenging courses that will enhance your communications skills and your knowledge of natural and applied sciences.

Agricultural education involves the broad study of agriculture including a core of course work in agribusiness; animal science; biotechnology; environmental service; food products and processing; natural resources; plant science; and power, structural and technical systems.

Agricultural education is designed for students who wish to meet requirements to teach agriculture in a public school setting or work in other areas where education and teaching are integral (i.e. extension, agribusiness, etc.). Graduates of this program meet Kansas State Department of Education licensure requirements.

Sixteen weeks during the second semester of the senior year are devoted to full-time student teaching.
