The School of Human Sciences offers a Master of Science degree in Gerontology. The online Master of Science in Gerontology prepares graduates to become practitioners, advocates, leaders, and changemakers in the field of aging. Innovative courses engage students in a variety of topics such as health and well-being, advocacy, emerging critical issues, and community-based interventions. This flexible and customizable curriculum is designed to meet the needs of students seeking professional preparation for career development or advancement in their field. Students may choose a coursework only or a thesis option. Students who choose the thesis option will also develop research skills to investigate critical aging issues.

Course Requirements
The program requires 30 credit hours of coursework. Students will choose one of the following plans: - A) Thesis Option
- B) Applied Coursework Only Option
- C) Long-term Care Administration Coursework Only Option
Most students who successfully complete the Long-Term Care Administration option will be eligible to sit for their specific state’s administrator licensing exam. Elective Courses

Students may choose from any of the following courses and/or choose electives outside of this list based upon their professional goals. Electives outside of this list must be approved by the student’s master’s committee. Thesis Option Courses
