Controlled Environment Agriculture Undergraduate Certificate

Location(s): Manhattan Campus

Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) is one of the fastest-growing disciplines in urban agriculture. This program focuses on greenhouse management and hydroponic cropping systems. It integrates technologies with crop production in an interdisciplinary environment to deliver hands-on training and management of CEA systems operation.

The certificate is offered through IDEA and can be completed by degree-seeking students at Kansas State University; obtained as a credential on its own (free-standing) by a non-degree, certificate-seeking student; or earned post-baccalaureate.

This is a hybrid program, with a mix of in-person and online instruction. Lectures may be asynchronous or in-person. For some courses, students must be able to participate in weekly in-person labs in either Manhattan or Olathe, Kansas. For IDEA course tuition information, see https://www.idea.edu/students/cost.

Students must achieve a cumulative 2.5 GPA on all coursework to fulfill the requirements of the certificate program.
