Milling Science Minor

Return to: Degrees and Certificates Offered
The Minor in Milling Science provides students with a strong foundation in the principles, technology, and operations of modern grain processing. Through a combination of lecture and hands-on laboratory courses, students gain applied experience in grain evaluation, process flow design, milling equipment operation, and process optimization used throughout the flour and grain processing industries. By integrating theory, design, and practical experience, this interdisciplinary program bridges the gap between students in other majors—such as engineering, agriculture, business, and food science—and the exceptional career opportunities available in the global milling and grain processing sectors. Graduates develop the technical expertise and industry insight needed to enhance process efficiency, product quality, and operational management within one of the world’s most essential industries.
