The accelerated Accelerated Hospitality Management (BS)/Hospitality Administration (MS) will provide high-performing undergraduates the opportunity to pursue an accelerated MS/Master of Science in Hospitality Administration degree with early admission to the graduate program as well as the ability to count nine credit hours of coursework in their graduate program toward their undergraduate degree.

Application Process
Application for admission will be completed online and can be accessed via the following link found on the graduate school website: http://www.applyweb.com/kstateg/ . Once you create an account, you will be able to choose the degree program you seek and manage the application process. The graduate school website includes step-by-step instructions (http://www.k-state.edu/grad/admissions/application-process/). Application for admission should include the following information: - Statement of objectives designating desired area of specialization, summarizing academic and/or professional experience, and identifying professional goals.
- Current resume.
- Two letters of recommendation.
- Follow the steps as you complete the online application. Enter the contact information of each reference online, and the system will request the letters of recommendation. Recommenders will upload their letters directly to your application using the links provided.
- For the accelerated B.S./M.S. application, one letter of recommendation must be from a faculty member in hospitality management.
- Official transcripts for all college coursework.
- You must upload an electronic copy (PDF preferred) of transcript(s) from each college or university where you have taken any higher education courses. You may also have previous institutions send official transcripts to the Department of Hospitality Management . Transcripts become part of your records at K-State and cannot be returned.
Admission Requirements
Undergraduate students applying for the accelerated program are required to have completed a minimum of 75 credit hours towards their bachelor degree. The following requirements must be met for admission into the accelerated program: - The student must be seeking the bachelor’s degree.
- The student must have completed a minimum of 75 credit hours toward the bachelor degree at the time of application for admission to the accelerated program.
- The student’s cumulative undergraduate GPA must be at least 3.000.
- The student must meet all other Graduate School admission criteria as outlined in the Graduate School Handbook and any graduate program specific requirements.
- A student who has completed all coursework for the bachelor’s degree is not eligible for the accelerated program.
Program Specific Admission Requirements
The student must complete 30 (thesis) or 36 (coursework) graduate credit hours with a graduate GPA of at least 3.0. Students with the course-only, non-thesis option may also choose graduate certificate programs offered at Kansas State University to develop a specialty area. The student must complete all B.S. undergraduate degree requirements. At least 18 hours of the program of study should be at the 700 or above level. Once an individual is admitted to the accelerated degree program, the student should consult the departmental and university graduate handbooks for policies and procedures for graduate degrees, including: supervisory committee, final examination, thesis defense, etc. The student’s supervisory committee must approve the program of study, which is a statement of the student’s graduation requirements. The B.S. degree will be awarded following the completion of the undergraduate degree requirements.
Overlapping Courses
Students may select up to 9 credits from the list of courses below to satisfy the requirements for both their undergraduate and graduate degrees. These courses should be listed at the 600-700 level. Graduation Requirements
- After completion of all undergraduate program requirements, including the up to nine (9) overlapping graduate credit hours that are counted toward the bachelor’s degree, the student must apply to be awarded the bachelor’s degree.
- After receiving the bachelor degree, the student is eligible to be fully admitted into the master program portion of the accelerated bachelor-master program.
- To complete the second part of the accelerated program, the student must complete all master program requirements with a graduate cumulative GPA of at least 3.000.
