Systems theory, systems design, computer systems, machine learning, cybernetic systems, augmented reality, and virtual reality provide the foundation for the burgeoning field of Spatial Computing. In spatial computing, digital information is integrated seamlessly into the user’s perception of the real world, enhancing their understanding and interaction with their environment. The ability to simulate, and operationally bind, the system dynamics of genuine systems using mathematical models or smaller-scale physical replicas allows researchers to explore system behavior in a detailed manner that is frequently either impractical or unsafe in the real world. Additionally, this graduate certificate fully stacks into K-State Salina’s current Integrated Systems Design and Dynamics (MS) .

Admission Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree, official transcripts for all undergraduate coursework (minimum 3.0 GPA required), official transcripts for all graduate coursework (if applicable), and a curriculum vitae. While not required, two letters of recommendation and highlighted industry experience can be used to improve an individual’s application. GRE is not required.
- While not required, incoming students should have a computing principles background (at least 2 credit hours of computer programming at the undergrad level is helpful). Students who do not have an undergraduate course in computing principles are advised to take the following courses:
- CMST 190 – Information Engineering for Data Science (1 credit hour)
- CMST 290 – Scientific Programming for Machine Learning (1 credit hour)
