The Financial Therapy graduate certificate is offered through the department of Personal Financial Planning . The program is completely online, combining self-study with a mentoring classroom-type experience. Students will develop skills to help clients improve financial well-being from a holistic perspective where psychological, emotional, relational, and economic aspects of financial health are considered and addressed.

Students without prior personal financial planning coursework or professional experience in financial planning will be required to have completed a Fundamentals in Personal Finance equivalent course that covers basic financial planning concepts. The course can be an undergraduate or graduate course and must have been taken at an accredited university.

After earning the graduate certificate, students may apply credits earned through the graduate certificate completion towards a Master of Personal Financial Planning at Kansas State University.
