Admission Requirements
To pursue the MEM degree, the student must meet the KSU Graduate School admissions requirements, have a B.S. degree in engineering, mathematics, or physical science, and have taken at least one course each in calculus and statistics. Students must have at least three years of full-time industrial (work) experience by the time they complete the program. Master of Engineering Management is an online program only. This program is designed to be a part-time program and typically requires 2 to 4 years to complete. Students not meeting the above requirements may be considered if they can demonstrate equivalent evidence of an appropriate background. A culminating experience is required for this option. The graduate student works with the major professor and the supervisory committee to determine the parameters of the culminating experience. Required Courses (15 hours)
Select any 5 of the 6. Electives Courses (15 hours)
Electives are any course not utilized as a core course on the program of study. These may be from IMSE or other departments. For example, courses in psychology, business, and other engineering disciplines may broaden and enhance engineering management skills. Guidelines and Additional Requirements
* Actual degree requirements will be summarized on an approved plan of study. Some general guidelines include:
–At most 6 hours can be transferred from another school, unless prior approval is given –No more than 6 hours can be taken from an outside department without prior permission –Courses in the IMSE department must be above the 600 level –Courses outside the department must be above the 500 level –No more than 6 hours can be taken at the 500 level
** Students on-campus are required to enroll in the graduate seminar each semester
** Besides the above academic requirements, a graduating student must have at least 3 years of full-time work experience. Total Hours Required for Master’s: 30
