Gerontology Graduate Certificate

The 15-credit hour online Graduate Certificate in Gerontology  is a flexible and customizable curriculum designed to provide students with the cutting-edge gerontological skills needed to enhance their degree or propel advancement in their field. Innovative courses taught by a diverse faculty engage students in a variety of topics such as health and well-being, advocacy, emerging critical issues, and community-based interventions.

After earning the graduate certificate, students may apply credits earned through the graduate certificate completion towards a Master of Gerontology at Kansas State University.

Course Requirements


The graduate certificate program consists of 15-credit hours of coursework, including core courses (6 credit hours) and electives (9 credit hours).

Elective Courses


Students may choose from any of the following elective courses and/or take courses from outside of this list based upon their professional goals. Electives outside of this list must be approved by the gerontology graduate program director. Only up to 3-credit hours of practicum experience may be included in the certificate program. 9 credit hours
