Historical Performance Practice Undergraduate Certificate

A course of study for K-State students with foundational instruction in historical performance practices (Middle Ages through the 18th Century) with practical training in stylistic differences, ensemble performance, reading early notation, and research.

Required Courses: 2 credit hours


Students will complete a two (2) credit semester project through Special Studies in Music (MUSIC599), such as a recital or research project related to Historical Performance Practice.

Ensemble Performance: 5 credit hours


Students are expected to take five (5) credits from two or more early-music ensembles, selected from Collegium Musicum, Madrigal & Motet Ensemble, and/or Recorder Ensemble. 

Elective Elements: 5 credit hours


Students may choose any five (5) credits from the following courses
