The Bachelor of Science in Interior Design is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation https://www.accredit-id.org/.
Graduates of the interior design program are prepared to work in interdisciplinary teams with architects, engineers, contractors, and other building industry professionals to meet the needs of clients and users.
Admission to the interior design program is selective and competitive. High school graduates and transfer students who have completed applications submitted to the K-State Office of Admissions www.k-state.edu/admissions/apply are considered for acceptance to the program for the next fall semester. Current K-State students wanting to change major to Interior Design should contact the College of Architecture, Planning, and Design Office of Student Services at capdss@ksu.edu or 785-532-5047.

Kansas State University Core: 34-36 Credit Hours
K-State Core is the foundation for an impactful life and career after time at K-State. The K-State Core framework covers six disciplinary areas: English, Communications, Mathematics & Statistics, Natural & Physical Sciences, Social & Behavioral Sciences, and Arts and Humanities. In addition, a seventh area is reserved for institutionally designated use, which K-State is keeping as free electives. In total, the framework takes up 34-35 credit hours of 100 and 200-level coursework. Students who complete their general education elsewhere cannot be required to take additional general education coursework in the disciplinary areas of the framework without permission from KBOR to continue requiring courses in the K-State Core. Program Requirements: 86 credit hours
* If any of the following courses are applied towards University Core Requirements, please consult your advisor on additional courses to meet the 120 hours.
Professional Studies: 72 credit hours
Grades of ‘C’ or higher required for Professional Courses.
Major Support Courses
If not met through K-State Core requirements, MATH 160 and a PHYS course are required. Choose PHYS 101 and PHYS 103 or either PHYS 113 or PHYS 115. Sustainability Studies: 3 credit hours
Choose one of the following courses. Professional Electives: 14 credit hours
