Sacred Music Undergraduate Certificate

Location(s): Manhattan Campus

Prepares church musicians for various roles they will hold while serving in places of religious observances which can include performance, accompanying, conducting, singing, and chamber groups. 

Required Courses (13 credit hours)

Sacred Music Certificate Completers will complete 13 hours in Sacred Music Preparation

Internship and Performance (5 credit hours)

Certificate Completers will perform in collaborative groups and engage in three (3) semester-long internships preparing them for the sacred music profession.

Techniques (3 credit hours)

Certificate Completers will have experiences in conducting, methods, and materials concerning sacred music.

Vocal Elective (1 credit hour)

Certificate completers will take at least one course in vocal instruction to be selected from the following:

Private Instruction (4 credit hours)

Certificate completers must complete a minimum of 4 credits of private instruction.
