Food Science and Industry Minor

Students enrolled in any primary undergraduate major can be admitted to the Food Science minor. Intent to complete a minor should be filed prior to enrollment in the final nine credit hours of course work. Selection of the final 9 credits should be done in consultation with the Food Science minor advisor. No more than 6 hours of transfer courses may be used for the minor. Prerequisites and requisites associated with courses for the minor must be followed.

Core Courses (6 credit hours)
Food Science elective courses (9 credit hours)
- FDSCI courses greater than 101 (9 credit hours)
- FDSCI 300 or higher – minimum one course
- The following FDSCI courses cannot be applied towards the Food Science minor: FDSCI 101, FDSCI 301, FDSCI 310, FDSCI 500
- up to 6 credits 200-level and above from a non-FDSCI prefix that are directly related to Food Science, or covering topics directly relevant to Food Science, can be applied. Prior approval of the Food Science minor advisor is required.
