Note 1: Arab 101 and Arab 102 are 4 credit hour courses. It is strongly recommended that students also take additional courses in language (e.g. ARAB 201 and ARAB 301 ) for a complete cultural immersion in the Middle Eastern culture.
Note 2: A student may substitute previous college level course work in Turkish, Persian, or Hebrew upon approval. A native speaker of these languages may be exempt from the language requirements and can fulfill the remaining requirements for total credits by taking approved electives or independent studies. In addition, a student may fulfill language requirements in a study abroad program if credit hours are offered at college level and if these courses are approved by Kansas State University.
Students must select one course from each section and complete a minimum of 9 credits of core courses from the following three categories. To fulfill the minor requirements, each student has to choose one course from each section below:
