Data Analytics and Insights in Animal Health Graduate Certificate

Data analytics in the animal health industry requires a specialized skill set, which combines the knowledge of animal science and data analytics, with skill in applying the data to impactful decision making. Students in the Data Analytics and Insights in Animal Health Graduate Certificate will be able to:

  1. Exhibit broad comprehension of animal health
  2. Demonstrate in depth understanding of programming and data management tools
  3. Apply appropriate mathematical methodologies to animal systems
  4. Implement strategic use of data analytics for business applications, including animal health research and commercial insights

The courses for the certificate can be applied to other Master’s programs such as the M.S. in Applied Biosciences or the M.S. in Veterinary Biomedical Science, after a student is accepted to the Master’s program.

Admission Requirements


  • A bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by a regional or national institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Undergraduate preparation in the proposed major field equivalent to that acquired by a graduate of Kansas State University, or evidence of an appropriate background for undertaking an advanced degree program, and
  • Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale or GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 hours of coursework.
