The Master of Science in Aviation degree is a 30 credit, with 2-option degree that is designed to meet emerging needs of the aviation/aerospace industry. Further, each option has either a research thesis track for those who desire to continue their education to the Ph.D., or a non-thesis option for those who do not plan on continuing their education beyond the master’s degree. The M.S. in Aeronautics is also designed to accommodate either the working professional, or the traditional academic student with both distance and hybrid instruction models. In either option students will learn both from experienced professors as well as from experienced industry professionals.
The Leadership/Policy option is aimed at those who wish to continue their professional education with an ultimate career objective of an executive leadership position in the aviation/aerospace sector. Within this option, students will examine and understand current industry issues from a strategic perspective with a focus on how to make the industry more resilient in an era of constrained resources and changing national priorities.
The Aerospace Certification option is designed for those who desire advancement in, or desire to enter the workforce in, either the aerospace manufacturing or continued airworthiness sectors. Students will experience in-depth study in the areas of airworthiness certification, production certification, lean six sigma, project management, safety management and others. This program will meet and exceed emerging industry standards for education and training in airworthiness certification.
