Many select the Personal Financial Planning Track to complete the coursework needed to sit for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM exam; the Financial Therapy track which provides client centered financial planning skills; or the Advanced Planning track to develop more advanced financial planning skills.
To complete the Master of Science degree the student must complete 30 semester credit hours as per one of the following plans:
A) Personal Financial Planning (18) + Financial Therapy (12)
B) Personal Financial Planning (18) + Advanced Financial Planning (12)
C) Financial Therapy (12) + Advanced Financial Planning (12) + Electives (6)
D) Personal Financial Planning (18) + Electives (12)
Students entering the program without CFP® certification or a time-value of money course will be required to take PFP 624 Fundamentals of Family Financial Planning or an equivalent course as a prerequisite.
