Complex Fluid Flows Graduate Certificate

The Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering offers a graduate certificate in complex fluid flows for students in other disciplines. The intent of this certificate is to conduct research and train graduate students in the general area of modern fluid dynamics. Given the highly complex and difficult problems encountered in this area, this program strives to blend three important branches of research: fundamental physics, experimental verification, and computational fluid dynamics.
Since more and more employment opportunities at the graduate level require interdisciplinary training, the certificate program in complex fluid flows serves to make our graduate students attractive to future employers in industry and academia. Through the interdisciplinary graduate courses, seminars, and innovative research in complex fluid flows, students receive a much broader exposure to all facets of complex fluid flow research than they could receive within a single department.

General Requirements:
- Student must complete their MS or Ph.D. degree requirements in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Nuclear Enginnering, or Physics.
- Complete three semesters of CFF Seminar: PHYS 708 or CHE 708 (one credit hour). The CFF bi-weekly seminar series has brought distinguished speakers from various national and international organizations to the KSU campus.
