Master’s Degree Requirements
Graduate Handbook
All students are expected to be familiar with the latest version of the graduate handbook. It covers general requirements, the supervisory committee, the program of study, course requirements, probation and dismissal, residence requirements, thesis and reports, and the final examination. Graduate Handbook is available on the Graduate School web page. Graduate Seminar
All on-campus graduate students are required to attend the departmental graduate seminar and will be required to give a seminar presentation on their thesis or report. Their enrollment in the zero credit hour seminar course, EECE 896, is required each semester. Graduate Committee/Program of Study
During the first semester of graduate study the student will choose a major advisor, and then in conjunction with the major advisor, select a graduate committee and develop a tentative plan of study for a graduate program in the EECE Department. The program of study must be completed and forwarded to the Graduate School by the end of the second semester of enrollment. Choice of Option
All options require at least 18 credit hours on the program of study to be at the 700 level or above. The student, with the concurrence of the major advisor and/or the department head, may select one of the options below leading to the MS degree.
At the option of the major advisor, graduate research assistants may be required to select option (1). For the course work option, identified programs of study for the major areas of specialization should be followed when available. Thesis Option
30 hours of graduate credit including 6 credit hours of thesis research, EECE 899.
Two Courses are required from the following list: Report Option
30 hours of graduate credit including 2 credit hours of report research, EECE 898.
Two Courses are required from the following list: Coursework Option
30 hours of graduate credit.
Two Courses are required from the following list: Final Examination
The request for final examination must be filed in accordance with the requirements of the Graduate School. |
