Thesis option
The thesis option includes a minimum of 30 semester hours of graduate credit including 24 hours of course work and a Master’s thesis for which 6 semester credit hours are given. The program is designed to prepare students for careers in research, analysis, or to continue towards a Ph.D. program. The course requirements are:
No-thesis option
The no-thesis option includes a minimum of 36 semester hours of coursework and a final examination. The program is designed to prepare students for careers in public service, commerce, and industry. The course requirements are:

Candidates in the thesis program are required to take a final oral examination covering the thesis and the subject matter in the major field and the minor field when a minor is selected.
Candidates in the no-thesis program are required to demonstrate evidence of scholarly effort by completing a creative component consisting of a written paper and an oral defense. The written paper will be on a topic provided by the student’s advisory committee relating to the student’s field of study.
The following courses developed for the Masters of Agribusiness program are not allowed on a student’s program of study: AGEC 700, AGEC 701, AGEC 713, AGEC 720, AGEC 730, AGEC 760, AGEC 761, and AGEC 770.
