Bachelor’s degree requirements

Requirements
Students may obtain either a bachelor of arts or a bachelor of science degree with a major in mathematics. For either degree, in addition to the general requirements of the university and college, mathematics majors must complete the following core courses: Notes
- For the BA degree, students must take 12 additional credit hours in mathematics numbered 400 or above; PHILO 510 may be substituted for 3 of these credit hours.
- For the BS degree, students must take 12 additional credit hours in mathematics numbered 400 or above.
- Students majoring in mathematics must earn a grade of C or better in each math and statistics course used to satisfy requirements for the major.
- All students should enroll in MATH 199 in their first fall on campus.
- Students may choose one of four concentrations, depending on their career interests.
