Program requirements
Students who choose to major in other departments on campus can still specialize in Mass Communications through the A. Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
This degree program is flexible enough to accommodate many student interests, ranging from writing/production courses to more generalized studies of the media professions and their relationship to society. Choose one of the following 100-level electives:
Electives (9 credit hours)
For specialization in the field, students taking the minor must take three classes totaling nine credit hours. One must be at the 200-level or higher, one must be 300-level or higher and one must be 400-level or higher.
Student must achieve a cumulative 2.50 GPA (K-State and transfer grades) in the seven required courses to complete the minor. Note: A grade of a “D” does not transfer.
